By using hardwoodist.com, you agree to the terms below. The site is a personal project; the legal entity behind it is the individual operator described in the colophon.
What the site is
A basketball research and visualization site, organized around the fictional Hardwoodist Research Institute. The statistics, formulas, and commentary are the operator’s own work and opinion. They are not professional advice of any kind, including financial, betting, or fantasy advice.
Accounts
You can use the site without an account. Some features require signing in via Google or Discord. You are responsible for the security of the account you sign in with. We reserve the right to suspend accounts engaged in abuse, scraping, attempted disruption of the service, or any unlawful use.
Founding Member access
A one-time Founding Member payment grants ongoing access to features marked as member-only. Payment is processed through Stripe. See the refund policy for the conditions under which a refund may be issued.
Intellectual property
Original writing, charts, and software on this site are the operator’s. NBA data is sourced from publicly available providers and is owned by the NBA, individual data providers, and other rights holders as applicable. You may reference, link to, or quote modest portions of the site for non-commercial purposes; you may not redistribute the site’s data or code in bulk without permission.
Disclaimers
The site is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. Statistics may contain errors or be incomplete. Member features may change, be added, or be removed. The operator does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the operator’s total liability arising from your use of the site is limited to the amount you have paid us in the prior twelve months (which, for non-paying visitors, is zero).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wake County, North Carolina.
