October 2026 accuracy audit: corrected inputs, recomputed models, RAPTOR relabelled.

Impact metrics

• RAPTOR is shown only where FiveThirtyEight published it (1976-77 through 2021-22); later seasons show HW_RAPTOR, labelled.
• RAPTOR reconciled to FiveThirtyEight's files: 266 values corrected, 3,019 filled in, 1976-77 added.
• HWI v1.2: cross-year prior (residual form, γ = 0.3); Parker '07 #73 → #62.
• HCR is computed once per player-season: traded seasons are ranked once, and 2023+ no longer leans on the box score.
• HWI Vector: traded stints use prorated season tracking data; baselines rebuilt through 2025-26 and for Phoenix 1969–96.

Shots

• Shot types: all 70 play-by-play labels classified; Shaq '00 dunk rate 3.9% → 16.8%.
• 1996-97 three-pointers are no longer filed as mid-range; league three-point share 10.7% → 21.2%.
• 60,725 regular-season and 188 playoff shots added for 95 players missing from the shot record.
• Traded players' team stints carry their own shot profiles.

Box scores

• League FG% / 3P% / FT% baselines corrected (1997 FG% .430 → .455).
• Traded players: per-team Win Shares and playoff lines on each stint (Rasheed Wallace '04 DET WS 6.2 → 2.4).
• Games started: per team, blank before 1981-82, never above games played.
• Every team's W/L matches its season record; neutral-site games kept.
• All-Star rosters 1952–55 and MVP voting 1968–76 restored.
• Salary cap and tax tables re-checked 1985–2026; 2025-26 cap $154,647,000 (was a $141,667,000 projection).

Context

• Pre-2011 charges recorded as unknown, not zero.
• On/off ratings are per 100 possessions (were per 48 minutes).

Synergy

• Play types reloaded: 2020-21 complete (pick-and-roll ball-handler 57 → 271 players); missing 2016-17 and 2018-19 play types filled.

Site

• Per-game FG% / 3P% ranks require the NBA's makes minimums.
• Season ranks use one 450-minute floor across player pages.

Title Scaler

• Champions and series wins derived from playoff results; 2025-26 included.

Galaxy

• Stocks axis sums steals and blocks (blocks were dropped).

The Big Fix

• Simulation timeline corrected to 26 + 36 games.

Shaq Factor

• Ranked on the base score; the 2013-14+ tracking bonus is shown beside it, not added. #1 Zion '21 82, #2 Shaq '01 81.
• Pre-2011 seasons no longer penalised for unrecorded charges; Shaq '00 77 → 80.

Duncan Index

• Scored from 1996-97 on, where its consistency inputs exist; earlier seasons had been filled with defaults.
• Durability scaled to each season's schedule length; relocated franchises matched (Payton '97 64 → 69).

Stockton Index

• Stored score now follows the published formula, to two decimals; Stockton '90 86.52 (#1).

Gravity

• Scoring efficiency measured against each season's league baseline; 538 on/off term dropped. Curry '16 89 → 85, Iverson '01 7 → 67.

Pressure System

• Seasons before 2013-14 carry an imputed estimate, marked est. ±4 (Jordan '98 54 → 79).

Irrational Confidence

• Traded players' seasons are scored (1,047 seasons added).

Concordance

• Zones are assigned only where the play-type inputs are measured or estimated; 68 of 3,125 plotted seasons shown as insufficient plumage data. 2023-24 is zoned (completeness cutoff 85% → 80%) except 34 seasons missing play-type records.
• Pre-2013 inputs estimated with uncertainty bands (out-of-sample error ±0.09); 934 borderline seasons marked uncertain instead of zoned.
• HW_RAPTOR placed on RAPTOR's axis at × 0.54, matched to RAPTOR's spread (was × 0.475).

Heat Check

• Hot-hand table adds shot-difficulty-controlled rows: field goals −0.04 / −0.13 / −0.26 pp after 1 / 2 / 3 makes (raw −0.66 / −0.98 / −1.25).
• Longest-run tables include 2025-26 (6,951 qualifying seasons).
